Charlotte with the puppies shortly following their birth.
Charlotte decided that she would give her puppies one of her Primal Freeze Dried Nuggets in case they got hungry when she was not in the whelping box. We thought it was a sweet gesture.

The puppies have increased their weight by at least fifty percent of their original weight. They are all gaining steadily.
Charlotte & Noble had six puppies on March 16th, 2018.

When Charlotte was a puppy, she quickly became our niece's favorite dog in the house.  She has made it a point to bring her special gifts over the years.  She made a request when Charlotte was still a puppy that if she was kept in our breeding program, she would choose the temporary puppy names for Charlotte first litter.

Charlotte & Noble's previous litters turned out so beautifully that we chose to repeat it.  When we announced that we were repeating the breeding, our niece claimed naming rights on all of Charlotte's litters.  She enjoys the process of choosing special temporary names for each puppy.
We chose a 'Spring' theme for this litter.

The girls: Tulip and Spring
The boys: Bud, Sunny, Rain, and Peep

The puppies are one week old.  Charlotte is absolutely wonderful with the puppies.  She is very calm and relaxed with the puppies.  She watches over them and observes us as we handle them, but is completely trusting of us as we assist with the care of the puppies.  She remembers the weighing process when we weigh each puppy daily and remove them from the whelping box for a few seconds.  She sleeps with them, nestles them, and cleans them with such devotion.

The puppies began the early neurological stimulation "Super Dog" program developed by Dr. Carmen Battaglia.

Bud is a male that is black in color with white tips on his feet and chest.
Tulip is a female that is black and tan.
Sunny is a male that appears black in color, but he is sable. His head is turning more and more gold each day. He reminds us of Noble as a puppy :o)
Rain is a male that is black and white in color with two white hind stockings, a white chest, and a white tip on his tail.
Spring is a female that has black and white parti coloring.
Peep is a male that is mostly black in color with a tiny bit of white.
Charlotte and Noble's puppies are three weeks old.  The puppies are beginning to learn to play, interact with toys, wag their tails, and make puppy sounds with each other.

Charlotte is a wonderful mother and is very relaxed with the puppies.  She assumes the role of watching over them and taking care of them like a 'pro'.  Charlotte often snuggles in bed with us during the night while in the whelping room.  She checks on her puppies, nurses them, and then enjoys resting on the bed.  There are also times she sleeps with the puppies for periods of time and seems to watch over them.  She is wonderfully attentive to the puppies, relaxed when we help with them, and enjoys receiving attention from us.

The puppies listen to classical music, several 'puppy sounds' tracks, children's music, and a variety of other music throughout the day.  The puppies will begin to spend the entire day with us in the family room next week.

The pups are five weeks old.  They spend the day in the family room with our family including our adult dogs.  All the adult dogs visit the pups often in the family room.  Although the pups were introduced to homemade food when they turned five weeks old, they had already sampled Charlotte's food the previous week.  The litter was interested in the food, but they still mostly played it.  They still prefer to have Charlotte nurse them. They are all doing beautifully with using the 'Piddle Place' and 'Ugo Dog'.

They are beginning to play in a small play area with toys, a very small toddler slide, and various puppy equipment.  They will begin 'puppy preschool' in their larger play room later this week.

Bud tried to nibble on the basket grass.

The pups are seven weeks old. They are learning quickly that Charlotte does not wish to nurse them full time and thus are having to eat 'big doggie' food.  They are very reliable with the potty, and love to play with the 'big' dogs.  Their favorite playmates are the youngest of our dogs, Gracie and Mia.  Charlotte continues to be a wonderful mother to the puppies. She still spends a lot of time with them and still allows them to nurse on occasion. They all have quite a number of teeth. They love to play on agility equipment. They all like a large variety of toys, a toddler play slide, ramps, a toggle board, hoola hoop and tunnels.  They are a fun group of puppies!

Peep was interested in the hoola hoop the moment we set it in the play room. Since it is very light, he picked it up with his mouth and proceeded to carry it throughtout the room.

Peep's all time favorite toy ... a fleece ball that makes a rattle sound :o)

The puppies are nine weeks old.  They eat well, are very reliable with the potty, and love to play with the 'big' dogs.  Charlotte continues to be a wonderful mother to the pups.  She spends a lot of time with them.  They love to play on agility equipment.  They all like toys, tunnels, empty cardboard boxes, and several motorized cars that we can move throughout their play area.  The puppies have enjoyed the warm weather and play outdoors numerous times each day.  They were able to visit with our livestock guardians Marli and Sivas and also meet a few newly born Nigerian Dwarf goats.  The puppies will begin going to their new homes next week.

They have been a true joy for us!
