had seven beautiful puppies on December 27, 2015.

Destiny
Destiny & Benji had seven beautiful puppies on December 27, 2015.  All the pups are nursing well and gaining weight steadily.  Destiny is doing a fabulous job with her puppies.

We have chosen a flower theme for this litter.  The girls: Rose, Violet, Tulip, Pansy, and Blossom.  The boys: Lotus and Sage.

The boys: both are golden in color and will more than likely resemble Destiny in coloring.
The girls: three golden/cream colored puppies, a black and white Irish Pied, and a black with white markings puppy.
Destiny's puppies are four weeks old.  We have chosen to name them after flowers: Rose, Violet, Tulip, Pansy, Blossom, Lotus, and Sage.

The puppies are learning to play, wag their tails very actively when they interact with us, and are making puppy sounds with each other.  Destiny is a wonderful mother and always assumes the role of watching over them and taking care of them like a 'pro'.  Destiny and Chloe are sharing a room together, and Destiny is always happy to nurse any of the pups, regardless of whether they are her puppies or not.  She allows Chloe to visit with her pups and jump into her whelping box to check on the puppies.  The puppies have begun to spend the entire day with us in the family room.

Last weekend brought the northern Virginia area quite a bit of snow.  We had almost 4 feet of snow.  The cold weather can be challenging for our livestock, and the immense amount of snow posed many problems for our smaller livestock.  This morning we were blessed with a St. Croix lamb that was protected, cleaned, and warmed by one of our Akbash livestock guardian dogs, Sivas.  He appeared proud of his accomplishment when we found the little lamb.  We will be rearing the little lamb indoors for a few weeks.  The puppies were intrigued by the little lamb this evening and his sounds.

The puppies are six weeks old.  They spend the day in the family room with our children, our adult dogs, and the newly born lamb, Snowflake.  The puppies are exposed to many sounds throughout the day such as the 'baaing' of Snowflake, music CD's, teenagers, visitors, the tv, and sounds from the final phases of a pantry construction project.  The puppies enjoy playing with a variety of toys, a 'ball pit', and tunnels.  The pups have started eating homemade food, but they still prefer nursing.  They are all doing beautifully with using the Potty Park and Ugo box.

Rose is a cream colored female puppy with gold highlights.
Violet is a cream colored female puppy with gold highlights.
Tulip is a black and tan Irish pied female.
Pansy is a cream colored female puppy with gold highlights.
Blossom is a female puppy that is mostly black in color with white markings.
Lotus is a cream colored male puppy with gold highlights.
Sage is a cream colored male puppy with gold highlights.
The pups are nine weeks old.  They eat well, are very reliable with the potty, and love to play with the 'big' dogs.  Destiny continues to be a wonderful mother to the pups.  She spends a lot of time with them and still allows them to nurse on occasion.  They all have at least a few teeth.  They love to play on agility equipment.  They all like toys and run after squeaky, rolling balls.  The puppies favorite play toy is the wading pool full of balls.  They have been a true joy for us!
