Faith's mother, Liliana. Lili is the maternal grandmother of these puppies.
Posh, the sire of this litter of puppies.
Faith and Posh had four beautiful puppies on January 1st, 2016. It was a wonderful way to spend New Year's day! Faith is great with any puppy. She is a very attentive mother that enjoys staying with the puppies in the whelping box or sitting right outside the whelping box while watching them.
The puppies are two weeks old. We have chosen a New Year's theme for their temporary names. The boys: Garnet and Navin. The girls: Nadia and January.
The girls: one that is mostly black in coloring and a sable colored puppy
The boys: two black and white Irish Pied's.
Faiths's puppies are three weeks old. We have chosen a New Year's theme for the puppies: Garnet, Navin, Nadia, and January.
The puppies are learning to play, wag their tails very actively when they interact with us, and are making puppy sounds with each other. Faith is a wonderful mother. She prefers not to share her pups with the other dogs at this point, but she will allow Chloe to go into the whelping room briefly to visit her. The puppies will begin to spend the entire day with us in the family room later this week.
Last weekend brought the northern Virginia area quite a bit of snow. We had almost 4 feet of snow. The cold weather can be challenging for our livestock, and the immense amount of snow posed many problems for our smaller livestock. This morning we were blessed with a St. Croix lamb that was protected, cleaned, and warmed by one of our Akbash livestock guardian dogs, Sivas. He appeared proud of his accomplishment when we found the little lamb. We will be rearing the little lamb indoors for a few weeks. The puppies were intrigued by the little lamb this evening and his sounds.
The puppies are five weeks old. They spend the day in the family room with our children, our adult dogs, and the newly born lamb, Snowflake. The puppies are exposed to many sounds throughout the day such as the 'baaing' of Snowflake, music CD's, teenagers, visitors, the television, and sounds from the final phases of an indoor pantry construction project. The puppies enjoy playing with a variety of toys, a 'ball pit', and tunnels. The pups have begun tasting homemade food, but they are still primarily nursing. They are all doing beautifully with using the Potty Park and Ugo box.
Garnet is a black and white Irish pied male.
Navin is a black and white Irish pied male.
Nadia is a sable colored female.
January is a mostly black in color female.with some white markings.
The pups are eight weeks old. They eat well, are very reliable with the potty, and love to play with the 'big' dogs. Faith continues to be a wonderful mother to the pups. She spends a lot of time with them and still allows them to nurse on occasion. They all have at least a few teeth. They love to play on agility equipment. They all like toys and run after squeaky, rolling balls. The puppies favorite play toy is the wading pool full of balls. They have been a true joy for us!

January sits in the ball pit. It is the most popular puppy play area where the pups play, tunnel, and dive into among playmates and balls.
Garnet and Nadia are removing balls and toys from the plastic dish plan. The puppies have such fun together!
