Patience & Noble had seven puppies on September 29th, 2018.

Patience is absolutely wonderful with the puppies.  She is very calm and relaxed with the puppies.  Since this is her second litter, she seemed to understand that she had to stay with the puppies and care for them all the time instead of being with the family in the main areas of the house.  We spend a lot of time sitting with her in the whelping room to keep her company during this time where the puppies have to remain in a heated whelping room.

Patience watches over the puppies and observes us as we handle them, but is completely trusting of us as we assist with the care of the puppies.  She is a very confident mom and very relaxed while we handle the puppies.  She watches calmly during the weighing process when we weigh each puppy daily and remove them from the whelping box for a few seconds.  She sleeps with them, nestles them, and cleans them with much devotion.  She does not mind when we help clean the puppies and arrange them to nurse.

We have chosen a 'Little Mermaid' theme for the puppies.  Since there are seven girls, we have chosen the main character 'Ariel' and her six sisters.

The girls: Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, Andrina, and Ariel

The puppies are one day old.
The puppies are four days old. They are robust puppies that are nursing well.

The puppies are two weeks old.  They primarily sleep, eat, and make soft sounds when they are trying to find Patience or a sibling to snuggle. Patience is absolutely wonderful with the puppies.  She watches over them, sleeps with them, and cleans them with much devotion.  She is a very relaxed mom that enjoys having us sit with her in the whelping box and seems to enjoy watching us as we handle the puppies.

Patience enjoys having us spend time with her in the nursery.

The puppies have all opened their eyes and are attempting to walk.  They seem to be very skilled at walking even though they have just started walking.  They are beginning to play with small toys, and also beginning to tug and nibble their siblings tail and feet.

The puppies continue to participate in the "Super Dog" program, the early neurological stimulation for newborn puppies developed by Dr. Carmen Battaglia.  They are exposed to classical music, Suzuki violin, children's music, and 'Puppy Sounds' throughout the day.

Patience and Noble's puppies are four weeks old.

Patience is being a fabulous mother to the puppies.  She watches over them closely, cleans them and feeds them with much attention.  Patience has been super relaxed about the entire process.  She shares her pups with our adult dogs that are curious about her puppies, and welcomes their interaction and help with them.

The puppies have all opened their eyes, walk like puppies, wag their tails, and play with their siblings and toys.

They have all completed the 'Super Dog' program, an early neurological stimulation program.  They are progressing with potty training with the 'Ugo Dog', 'Piddle Place' imitation grass mats, and 'piddle pads'.  Although our pups hear many sounds with our children and adult dogs, the puppies listen to classical music, several 'puppy sounds' tracks, children's music, and a variety of other music throughout the day.

Although we place toys in the whelping box for the puppies to explore during the early morning and evening, we have also introduced several soft semi enclosed mats and crinkle tunnels that fit inside the whelping box.  They are introduced to new toys, objects, and mild obstacles each day.  They are also given individual time daily.  The puppies explored a fall pumpkin that was carved and lit with a flashlight.  They were all curious about the new object.

They are all beginning to show interest in Patience's food when we feed her while they are nursing.

The puppies have begun to spend the entire day with us in the family room this week.

The puppies are five weeks old.  They spend the day in the family room with our family and our adult dogs.  All the adult dogs visit the pups often in the family room.  They are all doing beautifully with using the Piddle Place and Ugo box. The puppies have had many visitors. Patience enjoys showing off the puppies and also being showered with attention.

Patience is always happy to share her puppies with all of us, visitors, and our adult dogs.  Our youngest dogs, Gracie and Mia enjoy entering the pen and interacting with them.  Patience tends to watch them closely to ensure that Gracie and Mia are being gentle with the puppies.

Kalysta is one of our most enthusiastic participants in the socialization of puppies.  She is intrigued by their ability to run and play underneath her as she stands.

The puppies had their first taste of thickened goats milk from our Nigerian Dwarf goats.  They were eager to taste it and very skilled at drinking it.  Patience is always happy to participate in 'clean up' since she also enjoys the goats milk.

Kalysta, our Doberman.
Although Kalysta has appropriately sized beds, she enjoys using the beds for our small dogs. At times we think she believes that she is a small dog.
Ginger, our Nigerian Dwarf goat.
Love, our Nigerian Dwarf goat.

The puppies are six weeks old.  They spend the day in the family room with our children and our adult dogs.  The puppies are exposed to many sounds throughout the day such as the adult dogs, the booming bark of our Doberman, music, teenagers, visitors, the television, and many sounds from our busy household to include the beginning phases of a basement restoration project.  The puppies enjoy playing with a variety of toys, a toddler slide that is very small, and tunnels.  The pups have started eating thickened goats milk from our Nigerian Dwarf goats, and they are surprisingly skilled at consuming it instead of wearing it Smile.  They all continue doing beautifully with using the Piddle Place and Ugo box.

The puppies are nine weeks old.  They eat well, are very reliable with the potty, and love to play with the 'big' dogs.  Patience continues to be a wonderful mother to the pups.  She spends a lot of time with them.  They love to play on agility equipment.  They all like toys, tunnels, empty cardboard boxes, and several motorized cars that we can move throughout their play area.  Patience encourages games of catch with her taking a toy, showing it to the puppies, and running away with the toy.

The puppies have been a true joy for us!
